Graduate Interns

Daisy Antonio-Castellanos

Daisy is a first-generation college student who was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, she earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Sociology from SUNY Oneonta. She is currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at SUNY New Paltz. 

Her approach to counseling is grounded in strength-based, person-centered, and ecological perspectives. She strives to create a collaborative and affirming space where students can recognize their existing strengths, develop greater self-understanding, and feel empowered as they navigate challenges and change. Through an intersectional lens, she considers the many layers that shape a person鈥檚 experiences, including culture, identity, family and relationships, community, and the broader social systems in which they live. She is particularly interested in supporting college students as they explore the intersections of their identities, relationships, environments, and lived experiences while developing a stronger sense of agency and connection.

Elaina Wagner

Elaina is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern and is currently pursuing her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marist University. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Elaina graduated from Villanova University with a BA in Psychology and minors in Sociology and Theology. 

Elaina approaches counseling from a person-centered and empathetic perspective, believing that everyone brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and story into the therapeutic space. She strives to create a supportive, genuine, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring what is most meaningful to them. Elaina has particular interests in sport psychology, art therapy, and narrative therapy. She values the ways creativity and self-expression can provide meaningful outlets for reflection, connection, and growth.

In her free time, Elaina enjoys going on long walks, staying active, spending time with her loved ones, and finding good food wherever she can. A fun fact about Elaina is that she can juggle!
