School of Science Graduate School Partnership Agreements

The Marist University School of Science has established admissions partnerships with several graduate programs at regional institutions for qualified Marist School of Science graduates. All of these agreements are predicated on the assumption that there are seats available and are subject to periodic review and renewal. Partner institutions, program information, and specific requirements are outlined below.

Agreement Terms:

  • Direct admission into any of the Syracuse University ECS MS in Engineering programs listed below:

Applicant Requirements:

  • Earned baccalaureate degree in any Marist SOS degree program;
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better; 
  • Procurement of a positive letter of recommendation from the degree major department chair; and
  • Participation in a free summer bridge program offered by Syracuse University (this requirement may be waived by the ECS Graduate Program Director for certain qualified students)

Agreement Terms:

  • Assured admission to Northeast College of Health Science Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program upon successful completion of required pre-requisite courses, and achievement of minimum required grades and cumulative GPA, along with all other admissions requirements; and
  • Students must complete the course of study at Marist University with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and earn a minimum of 鈥淐鈥 (2.00) in all specified courses.
  • Students entering with a 3.0鈥3.499 cumulative Grade Point Average from Marist University will be automatically awarded a Northeast merit scholarship valued at $2,000.00. Students entering with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA from Marist University will be automatically awarded a Northeast merit scholarship valued at $3,000.00. These scholarships are non-renewable and dispersed equally between the first and second Northeast trimesters only.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Earned BS Biomedical Sciences, BS Biology-Human Biology Concentration, BS Biology-Biological Sciences Concentration, or BA Biochemistry, or any degree program that includes course work required to satisfy all of Northeast
  • Within their first two years at Marist University students will submit their intent to Northeast Admissions, identifying themselves as articulation students and their desired date of entrance to Northeast. The Letter of Intent must be signed by student鈥檚 advisor, signaling realistic and accurate desired Northeast entrance date.
  • Students must apply for admission to Northeast one year in advance of their desired entrance date and complete all Northeast application requirements.

Required Prerequisite Courses:

  • A minimum of 24 credit hours in life and physical science courses, and at least half of these courses will have a substantive laboratory component

Northeast College of Health Sciences Agreement Contact: Dawn Sutton, MS, Education Partnership Manager, dsutton@northeastcollege.edu  

Agreement Terms:

  • Preferred early acceptance into the Russell Sage College School of Health Science for students who have completed occupational therapy program course prerequisites and with completed application;
  • Access to Sage advisors to coordinate undergraduate electives and coursework to reduce or eliminate prerequisites in the graduate program; and
  • Opportunity to apply early for Graduate Assistantships in the Russell Sage College School of Health Science

Applicant Requirements:

  • Earned baccalaureate degree;
  • Minimum overall 3.00 GPA that includes the completion of occupational therapy program prerequisite courses with grades of C or better (see prerequisite courses listed below) and a 3.0 prerequisite science GPA (Anatomy and Physiology I and II);
  • Completed by June 1 of the year preceding graduation from Marist, including ;
  • Submit one letter of reference from the Marist University faculty and an additional recommendation letter; 
  • Submit Clinical Observation Document: 20 hours of clinical observation with an occupational therapist for the MSOT, or 40 hours of clinical observation if applying for the OTD; and
  • For OTD applicants, personal essay that includes ideas toward a desired doctoral capstone experience.

  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I, 4 credits with lab (BIOL201)
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology II, 4 credits with lab (BIOL202)
  • Introduction to Statistics I, 3 credits (MATH130)
  • Introduction to Psychology, 3 credits (PSYC101)
  • Lifespan Development, 3 credits (PSYC323)
  • Abnormal Psychology, 3 credits (PSYC202)
  • Health Psychology, 3 credits (PSYC213)*
    • *can substitute Introduction to Sociology (SOC101) or Introduction to Disability Studies (SOC219)
  • Any course in Medical Terminology, 1-3 credits (from any institution)
