Future Options and Choices for Undeclared Students (FOCUS)
Helping first-year students focus on success
This is a year-long academically based first-year program. FOCUS provides resources and information for first year students to assist them in making a successful transition from high school to college, and in making informed choices about their course of study and future career options. (3 Credits in the Fall and 1 Credit in the Spring)
鈥淚 developed such close relationships with my classmates and advisor, and could not imagine how difficult my first-year year would have been without being a part of the FOCUS Program.鈥�
鈥淚t was nice talking to other students who weren鈥檛 sure where they were headed in their college career. It made me feel more at ease with my own situation, that it was ok not to know exactly what I wanted to do yet.鈥�
An innovative academic program for incoming first-year that provides:
- An easy transition into the Marist experience
- Strategies for academic success
- Self-management skills
- In-depth information about majors, minors and concentrations
- Career planning options
To register for FOCUS, be sure to complete the Academic Survey in the freshman checklist.
