Scott began his interest in fashion at a young age, making clothing for some peanuts (yes, the nut!). He learned to sew at a young age from his mother, who also taught him the craft of knitting. Scott pursued a degree in Studio Art focusing on Fiberarts and Sculpture with an emphasis on creating textile and prints for use in fashion, performance, and installation work. He constructed, dyed, and distressed costumes for professional theatre, opera, and ballet early in his career. His dreams of a fashion career precipitated a move to New York, where he enrolled in the intensive, one-year Fashion Design program at FIT. Scott then focused his career on outerwear 鈥� what he calls a very sculptural element of sportswear. He had the opportunity to design menswear, which ignited a great passion in him. He transitioned his career to fully immerse himself in menswear, ultimately becoming the Vice President of Design for Perry Ellis. He brings his passion for fabric, prints, silhouette, impeccable construction, storytelling, and years of on-the-ground industry work to the classroom and in consulting with students on their creative projects.
