How to Start a New Club
Have an idea for a new club? We鈥檙e all about encouraging student engagement and representation, and we鈥檇 love to hear your proposal!
Check out the detailed information on the club chartering process to get started: How to Start a Club
General steps when creating a new club:
1. Fill out these forms
New Club Application : Fill out the New Club Application form.
Club Bylaws Template : Use the Club Bylaws Template to draft your club鈥檚 bylaws.
2. Contact the VP of Club Affairs
After filling out the new club application send an email to the VP of Club Affairs to start the club chartering process.
Arrange a meeting with the Financial Board to get an approval for your club's proposed budget.
3. Petitioning to generate interest for the club
This can be done by:
- Creating a Google form
- Gathering signatures from people in person
- Using any other reasonable method to demonstrate interest.
4. Develop a Club Proposal Presentation
Create a detailed presentation that outlines the general activities and special events your club plans to organize. Collaborate with your club鈥檚 board to ensure all aspects are thoroughly planned. Once your presentation is ready, present it to the Club Affairs Board to receive the green light to move forward.
5. Prepare for the Final Presentation
Present your club proposal at the weekly Student Government General Assembly meeting held on Wednesdays. Make sure your presentation is polished, concise, and engaging. Be prepared to address any questions or concerns from the assembly!
Once Approved by SGA
