Bio
Educational Background:
BS, Psychology and Childhood General/Special Education 鈥 Marist University, 2024
MS, Education in Contemporary Curriculum & Instruction 鈥 Marist University, 2025
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Childhood General/Special Education (Grades 1-6) and completed an additional program towards my NYS Early Childhood (Birth-2) teaching credentials. Through one of Marist鈥檚 5-Year programs, I received my Master of Science in Education in Contemporary Curriculum and Instruction.
What were you involved with on campus as a student?
As a student, I was heavily involved in the music department! I was a member of the Marist Singers, serving as President for two years, and a member of the student-run all-female a cappella group, The Sirens, where I was a co-director for two years. I spent a lot of time in The Office of Undergraduate Admission as an Ambassador, Tour Guide, Student Assistant, and Graduate Assistant. During the summers, I worked with the First Year Experience Office as an Orientation Leader, then a Senior Orientation Coordinator after my 4th year! Lastly, as an education student, I completed a wide variety of fieldwork and student teaching placements in the Hudson Valley.
Favorite spot on campus:
The riverfront property, Longview Park, for sure! The river is one of the highlights of Marist鈥檚 beautiful campus and it is such a great spot to relax, spend time with friends, do homework, or watch the sunset. The riverfront gets bonus points too because it鈥檚 where I met my fianc茅, Nick!
Favorite Marist tradition:
My favorite Marist tradition is the annual tree lighting. As a member of Marist Singers, we used to sing carols right after the countdown to light the tree and there was always such a joyful energy on the campus that evening!
Favorite Marist memory:
On my first day on campus as a Marist student, I walked down to the riverfront with a group of my brand-new friends to watch the sunset. When we got there, Longview Park was packed, and it felt like the whole Marist community was there to watch the first sunset! In that moment, I shook off some of the first-year nerves and knew that I had made the right choice of where to spend the next 4 years!
Best advice for the college search:
Keep an open mind, don鈥檛 be afraid to ask questions, and visit schools when/if you鈥檙e able to! Make a list of the things you鈥檙e looking for in your college experience, identify the places that check those boxes, and take it from there!
Why did you choose Marist:
I was lucky enough to have 鈥渢hat feeling鈥 when I visited campus for the first time and knew that I wanted to be here. Growing up near the Hudson River, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful campus. After visiting, I fell in love with the welcoming energy of the Marist community and the endless opportunities it has to offer. Academically, I was attracted to the small class sizes, strong faculty/student relationships, and experiential learning.
What makes Marist special to you?
Through the years, Marist has become my home away from home! I鈥檓 so grateful for all the amazing relationships that I have been able to develop during my time here. Being a member of the Marist community has shaped me in so many positive ways and I鈥檓 so proud to be a Red Fox!
